Use colorful transparent glazes and the magic of color theory to bring your watercolors to life!
Learn how to use hue, value and intensity to bring mood and impact to your paintings. I will also show you my techniques for luminous glazes of pure hue to create an exciting composition. An informative 2 day workshop filled with painting demonstrations, color theory exercises, individual painting instruction and critiques. This workshop focuses on the language of color theory and how to use it to create dynamic watercolors.

Encaustic Painting
Hot Wax/Cool Art Hot Wax/Cool Art is the ancient art of encaustic painting, consisting of beeswax, tree resin and colored pigment: applied hot with a paintbrush, each layer of wax is fused together with a heat source creating beautiful luminescent works of art. Colorful melted wax moves in a free flowing approach lending itself to a playful sense of freedom. The result is a painting with a lush surface that is simultaneously sensual and contemplative.
June 3rd Basics- safety, surfaces, fusing, incising,, color mixing, iron, heat gun…Basics –prerequisite class or equivalent.
June 4th Texture- impressions, stamping, oil sticks, staining, scraping, carving, layering…
June 5th Collage- image transfers, imbedded elements, fun papers, composition, color theory, graphite…
Time: 10:00-3:00 Fee: $125, per class. All art supplies provided. Dress for mess and come to have fun!
